While the mobile world is buzzing and choosing between the iPhone 5 or the Galaxy SIII and social media sites are exploding with rumors about the new Facebook phone, there is one  technology that is not receiving the respect it deserves.

QR Code  are changing the way we interact with the digital world. They are the glasses that allow us to see into the digital world and decipher vast amounts of information with minimal effort while using our mobile phones .

Businesses can succeed in attracting maximum amount of potential customers to their name and share information, websites, special sales and more using this:

Go ahead scan it!

WHY ARE THESE SPACE INVADER LOOK ALIKES GETTING SO MUCH ATTENTION?
People are mobile and so are their shopping habits.
The days when one had to rush home to order something they saw online or get to the store where a sale was taking place are over.
People are scanning and purchasing on the go.
Shopping hours are obsolete, you can window shop all day and order at any hour of the day or night from the comfort of your own space.
Airline companies are doing away with boarding passes and using a QR scanner and companies are adopting QR codes for marketing and sales.

QR CODES ARE SHOWING UP EVERYWHERE.

Here are the latest statistics on Mobile Phone Usage

QR Code generators are changing the way we travel, where we eat, how we go to the theater and even how we do our grocery shopping.   Two  Korean grocery stores  have taken the revolutionary QR code technology and have changed the way people shop for milk.

Tesco, one of  Korea’s biggest  grocery chain stores,  was trying to raise its sales percentages and become the #1 grocery store chain. Watch this awesome video on how they succeeded in changing the way people grocery shop using the QR code.!

Tesco’s number one competitor, E-mart, reacted swiftly and with genius. The goal: Raise sales during lunch hours and retain the #1 spot when it comes to grocery shopping.

The solution?  Some sun, a QR code and lots of curious people.

SO WHAT IS SO SPECIAL ABOUT THESE BLACK & WHITE SQUARES?

NOTHING!

The QR code is a first generation, two dimensional matrix that allows us to bridge the digital world with our physical world. It’s  like owning a black & white TV that plays 3d movies . It’s the technology that is magical, not the weird black & white static box.

It’s actually ludicrous that we are using such advanced technology with something that looks so… primitive. Businesses pay millions of dollars for a logo then use a black and white 80′s looking character?

Is the Nike logo or the Qr code more important?

Qr code companies are trying very hard to add some color to the B&W box.  ”NEW” COLOR QR design codes are a sad attempt and proof to just how much QR code technology needs an update.

Looks like someone took a crayon to a B&W TV and called it color!

With augmented reality quickly gaining momentum, QR codes must be updated if the technology is to survive.

TIME FOR QR CODE 2.0 TO BE RELEASED.

While first generation QR codes are a bridge between the digital and the real, the mobile world is ready and waiting for a new second generation technology.

Imagine if the digital and the real became one? Imagine a technology that would not need these codes but could decipher the same amount of information using a real time picture or a companies logo.

A technology which would allow all mobile phone users to tap into and receive information by merely taking a picture or looking at an object through our smartphone.

While you are imagining, you might want to keep your eyes open so that you wont  miss your imagination becoming a reality.

The question is not whether QR code 2.0 is coming out, the question is when and by whom.
