QR Code Api

A QR code is a two-dimensional code created by a Japanese corporation known as Denso-Wave. These codes embed large amount of data inside them. To decode this code, you will need a Smartphone that has a QR code scanning application.

The term QR is a short abbreviation of the word ‘quick response’ meaning that this code responds quickly when scanned. The use of QR codes is also not limited to online advertising and marketing. You can also use these codes in sales applications and logistics. They have also been used in revolving sushi bars, on cases for rental videos and paperback spines.

What you can store inside a QR code?

QR Codes are made up of multiple columns and rows. Most codes have about 177 columns and 177 rows totaling to 31, 329 squares. The arrangements of the squares in configurations that vary are the ones that are able to keep data.  However, this does not mean that all codes contain that exact number of squares. During the creation of the code, the code generator is the one that determines just how much data it needs to store thus deciding the number of columns and rows that will be able to sore that data.

A QR code’s size depends on its symbol version and the size of modules that make up that QR code. Therefore, you can store just about anything inside a QR code-be it text, a link, short message, email etc. QR codes also have the ability to store sounds and images but only if they are stored as binary data.

You can easily generate QR codes online even without any previous experience.
